What is Al-Chaahad ™

is a global system that allows anyone, anywhere in the world, to document a claim for Hilal sighting. Documented Hilal sightings are immediately verified and authenticated by a Competent Authority.


Al-Chaahad™ is composed of a Control Center and a set of distributed Observation Stations:

The Control Center

•Is run by the Competent Authority: body composed of qualified religious scholars and technical experts in Hilal sightings (astronomers and scientists)

•Is responsible for receiving requests for documentation of sightings

•Is responsible for the verification of requests for sighting, assigning permissions for claim submission, processing a documentation of a

sighting, and establishing sighting authenticity.

•Issues the official declaration of Hilal sighting, following the evaluation and authentication of sighting claims

 

 

An Observation Station is equipped with several integrated capabilities:

•Imaging system tuned specifically for the young crescent at the resolution power of the human eye

 

 

 

•Global positioning locator system that determines the location of the observation unit anywhere in the world and the Universal time of observation

•Communication system to request and acquire an instant permission for Hilal documentation from the control center in the form of a coded digital stamp

•Processing capability to associate the digital stamp, time and global sposition of the observing unit with the image of the Hilal

•Arc-second level of Hilal detection and tracking capability
